LITTLE JUGS & ONE BIG ONE

The little jugs had a mold ,were poured & brought to bisque. The big jug was hand sculpted. Now Glazed & Gold added after firing & fired again.

COCKATOO

This is my latest creation, quite pleased wth it. Finished it with translucent stain, then sprayed with a porcelain spray. Add glaze to your color 50-50, 2 base coats of white, antque with a light brown, wipe off with a soft cloth, damp sponge it if you want it lighter, then your colors, wipe with soft cloth to desired effect. Works great. HAVE FUN !

Lemon Dish

These are the results of Ethel pouring in her molds. The leaf she sculptured from a slab of clay. We got it all to bisque then translucent stained it all. Fine job ETHEL !

Napkin Holder Dolphins Completed

Took the Dolphins out of the kiln this morning.Now I have the Tile in the kiln. Firing the glaze to an 06 cone. If all goes well they will be ready to install.

Paintig tile with Glaze

Dolphins trimmed with gold are in the kiln. Have to sit in the kiln overnight, lid closed, will open in morning. All the tile are coated with glaze & will go in the kiln tomorrow. Takes this many tile to make a 2ft. x 2ft. square.

Ready for the Gold

The Dolphins have been fired with glaze. Now I want to trim them with gold. That little 1/4 oz. botlle you see costs $ 15.00 but it does go a long way. Had it for two years. They will sit overnight, tomorrow I will fire the gold. Tricky to fire gold.

Pouring Slip

Went to buy some glaze, only to find out my Ceramic shop was going out of business. They were getting rid of all there molds for free. Well Ethel found some fruit molds that she picked up. So here she is pourung slip into her fruit molds. Still need to buy some glaze.

Coating with Glaze

The Dolphins are now Bisque & need 3 coats of Glaze. Then I will fire to an 06 cone. They need to be on pins when firing or they will stick to the shelves.

Firing The Kiln

Dolphins & Harlieqen wall tile are being fired to bisque. The wall tile will be installed in the garage, back of the laundry sink.
